What Zimbabwe Needs For 2018 And The Future

Firstly the agenda for the year 2017 has been the forthcoming 2018 presidential elections between President Robert Mugabe's ZANU PF and the opposition parties. That either one of the two should come out victorious, but what Zimbabwe needs for 2018 is not another ZANU PF landslide victory that has led the country into a landslide of dire problems, the opposition parties whom for over a decade have not constructed a solid foundation for themselves or a face like Nkosana Moyo of the Alliance for the People's Agenda who is a former ZANU PF member trying to usurp power for himself by using "youthful speech and economic freedom". The majority might be aware of this " presidential candidate " and also aware not to vote for him. Zimbabwe does not need either ZANU PF or the old incompetent opposition with the failure of policies. What Zimbabwe needs for 2018 in this new era is a fresh opposition of the youth with their vigor which is neither linked to any of our old nor outdated political parties.

To begin with, the opposition be it MDC-T led by Morgan Tsvangirai, ZIM PF led by Doctor Joice Mujuru, APA led by Doctor Nkosana Moyo, or any other old opposition parties had their share of power previously and failed to maintain it. For example, MDC-T lost the 2013 elections which they quickly defined to be " rigged and unfair". The same term they used in 2008 and for over a decade. Yes, they claim to have been rigged out of political power but the evidence is not present. It is either true to a certain percentage or false either. The old incompetent MDC-T opposition should not be voted into power because how can a president like Morgan Tsvangirai or the opposition fix Zimbabwe's problems if they haven't fixed their own home or political party yet? Today we hear of an alliance between MDC-T and ZIM PF, but by the end of the day, it is no more. These are the type of political candidates whom if given power will, can and shall dismantle the government from within and even more. Morgan Tsvangirai is the leader of MDC-T since its founding and even decided to put the letter "T" to the name of the party to show that he owns it and also personalized it.

Yet it is a political party of so-called "democracy", if he becomes president, he might just name the country "Zimbabwe-T". Even if Morgan Tsvangirai hands over the power to Nelson Chamisa of their own MDC-T opposition, it is still MDC-T either way or the other and it is not what we need in Zimbabwe and the future. What is needed in Zimbabwe is a new fresh opposition not connected to the failed opposition or the ruling party. Voting for Morgan Tsvangirai who holds a great plan but a not-so-great policy will not lead to a better Zimbabwe, but if an opposition, not MDC-T which is led by the youth at executive powers will or might propel the youth to vote for this new vigorous opposition. So MDC-T, ZIM PF, APA or any other opposition is not the answer until it's a fresh and new opposition. Why vote for the MDC-T, you should not. They failed to bring justice for the abduction of their own Dzamara, why vote for an opposition that cannot deliver justice while out of executive powers? The Dzamara situation could be a scam or faked abduction for hidden political reasons either way it is a cowardly move by the opposition.

MDC-T and its alliances are a merry-go-round, going round but nowhere. Doctor Joice Mujuru broke away from this so-called alliance or M.O.U. as they called it Memorandum Of Understanding and it is very understandable. Doctor Joice Mujuru has been ZANU PF since pre-independence and has been degrading the opposition nearly all her life. So the policy and plans of MDC-T the opposition do not go well with her, it is like oil and water they don't get together well. However her joining the MDC-T and then breaking the alliance shows a lack of diplomacy within the opposition, what more if these child-like, immature politicians get the helm of executive powers they will break Zimbabwe apart with their lack of unity like the factionalism within the ruling party. They say "MDC-T for a change " or "chinja maitiro", they should take their advice and change their attitude by moving out of politics due to such embarrassment and failure. Before they sing the same accord after the 2018 presidential elections of "rigging and unfair" elections. By moving out of MDC-T from the political scene they give the youth a chance to form a new opposition not coming out of the MDC-T but from the youth. Why vote back the MDC-T into power who failed to use their chance to improve themselves by holding on to power or the economy at least?

The recent MDC-T failed to win 3 elections even in 2008 they failed to reach the required percentage for a certain victory, 10 years later after 2008 they will see the phrase, "history repeats itself". The failure of MDC-T in elections proved two sayings to be true, "if voting made a difference they would never let us do it" and "The people who vote decide nothing, the people who count the votes decide everything" leading to a Zimbabwe Electoral Commission demonstrations MDC-T have failed themselves within and their supporters. The recent Afro-Barometer showed that a large percentage of people distrust the MDC-T like the same situation in 2013 which could predict a failed power grab for MDC-T. Even if they were elected into power the economic turmoil that they share a percentage to its formation will not disappear overnight.

Our liberators have turned democracy into a one-party dictatorship, a neo-dynasty and governed democracy PF. Yes, it was ZANU PF who liberated us from the brutal British colonial rule that was filled with the mass murder of the black nationality. It was the tactical thinking of our former and
present ZANU PF leadership that made Zimbabwe the bread basket of Africa. Employment, education developments like student grants, an income of a high nature, social stability, project housing, rural development, land distribution and so many developments were made during the glory days of ZANU PF. Now their so-called landslide victory of 2013 led the country into a landslide of economic turmoil, a country with its own "bond currency", that is not even available in its required amount by the public, poor economic production and exportation leading to a cash shortage, no employment at all like promised in the ZIM- ASSET blueprint. The ZANU-PF government promised the public about 2-3 million jobs which was a great economic plan but a turmoil policy. This a lesson for the incompetent opposition and aristocratic ZANU PF that planning and policy are two different actions or implementations.

Ironically instead of the 2-3 million jobs being given to the public in August 2015 a majority of civil and private workers got retrenched more than ever before, why keep ZANU PF in power then? ZANU PF has become a dynasty in a " democratic Zimbabwe". We hear of First Lady Grace Mugabe wanting to grab the presidency for herself, and Vice President Emmerson D.Mnangagwa being accused of steering factionalism to get hold of the presidential post. This is a comedy show, hilarious, and sounds like a movie. They are already causing chaos and disunity among themselves to see who succeeds His Excellency President Mugabe, like what is done in a dynasty yet it's a democracy. Another reason not to vote for ZANU PF just like its opposition is disunity within themselves for a political party divided amongst itself will not stand.

ZANU PF is very aware that people do not think critically hence easy to control by the use of state propaganda media. How has ZANU PF our liberators remained in power for nearly four decades, the use of media as a tool to generate positivity and degrade their opponents in the media alongside other treacherous means for example GUKURAHUNDI or "THE WHIRLWIND"?The fact is a majority of people are not willing to die for change in the 21st Century, especially in Zimbabwe except a few. What is the best way to remove ZANU PF and their incompetent opposition which are likely to go along the same path of destruction? Only a new youth opposition with its funding not linked to a "democratic" dynasty or a failed incompetent opposition that can rally the youth to vote in numbers for their kind is what Zimbabwe needs for 2018 and beyond.

Why can a youth-formed party win the elections because it's something new not a dynasty of a ruling party or a failed, clueless, undemocratic and ridiculous opposition? The youth are suffering because of these two collaborations. No jobs, production crisis leading to cash shortages disastrous economy only functioning to a few. The youth only know what it means to hold a first-class degree when they are home unemployed or doing a low-paying job that does not relate to their qualifications.

Yet there they are hoping to vote for the same people that failed to deliver to a majority of them except an elite few. Instead of rallying themselves, the youth, to take down the system that is abusing their constitutional and human rights. They pray for change to come whilst waiting to vote where voting makes no difference and they decide nothing by voting for a dynasty that will be in power for nearly four decades that holds no interest in their lives until the election period or when doing non-productive rallies and marches without a cause like the "Angels march" which was ridiculous as it got.

A change is needed, the old ruling, aristocratic party and the failing democratic opposition versus a new youth political party movement. Let us face a straight fact youth are the majority in numbers and are the same majority in numbers who are suffering. Yet they are educated and knowledgeable. With all that, they sit home unemployed and do underground jobs that prove their education levels and qualifications are like that of the bond note no value at all. The question is what Zimbabwe needs for 2018 and the future, a new opposition run by the youth from top to bottom, within and outside. The use of social media for mass communication to spread their message to their fellow youth is needed. Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and YouTube are media communication systems to which the government holds no regulation too. It's either the youth act now together as one or they will adapt to a system that they will perish to and already are perishing to.

No to ZANU PF, no to MDC-T and any other opposition but yes to a youth political party movement. For how long have the youth been told they are the future of tomorrow, well the future is today and not tomorrow. The youth have two options. One to play to the bidding of the politician of both the ruling party and the opposition. Then option two is to play their bidding. The ongoing ZANU PF youth interface rallies have nothing to do with the problems the youth are facing, just a strategy to gear up the ZANU PF campaigning strategy.

The same cliches and words our fathers and grandfathers heard are the same the youth heard and are going to hear at these interface rallies. That touched no important issues like unemployment, or production crisis, just some information that will not improve Zimbabwe. The youth allow themselves to be manipulated, used, and outplayed by ZANU PF and the opposition. Option two youth have, is for the youth to take up "arms" and form a movement that topples all opposition and ruling party that have failed them and predictably going to continue to do so. If the youth do not do this they are gonna find themselves in a far worse situation than they are in now and a waste of youth life. It's either they are going to be prepared to fight for their change, sacrifice for their change or die for their change.

To conclude no to ZANU PF for 2018, no other failed opposition like MDC -T, ZIM PF and APA by Nkosana Moyo a fake opposition. YES TO THE YOUTH OPPOSITION MOVEMENT.

  2. The stereotypical thinking struck a chord with me .In our society people just aim and push for white collar jobs for their kids whether the kid wants it or not .Stereotypes can be harmful .
